Standing at the forefront of the game available this year were the Indies, with such a wealth of availability it was amazing that indies where the first things you saw upon entering the venue, this meant a lot of the stands where always busy and if you were just in one of those 2- 3 hours queues for the handful of games on offer there was always an indie game to find and play! This year I only ever really see two major hype generators and these where the Destiny (Playstation 4 game) stand within the Virgin Media stage and the Playstation stage, I literally never really see any other Tornado (EGX’s official energy drink) fueled ‘Triple A’ fan pumping madness which was very weird. This is EGX the largest UK games expo and where I would expect a large ‘Triple A’ presence and booming stages and themed floor stands with fans screaming for giveaways and chaos over lanyards. The venue was once again at NEC Birmingham (see I can spell) and this year there was really a lack of something, in my mind this was a ‘Triple A’ presence, now I know you will be like “but Noaksey aren’t you all about Indie titles?” well rest assure I am and that’s not going to change but the absence of the likes of Xbox, Nintendo and even Ubisoft was really noticeable and while I want the indies to be covered and found that is exactly what Rezzed is for. “the absence of the likes of Xbox, Nintendo and even Ubisoft was really noticeable” Now with that’s over with let us overview EGX this year and the games I feel are worth your time Before you lose yourself I know that the title has an overwhelming obvious typo in it but I think this is totally acceptable when you check out the picture below!
